Buenos Aires, January 26. — The Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) experienced a day of intense heat, with temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius, and rain is expected for this Tuesday. According to data from the National Meteorological Service, the minimum was 26 degrees, with high humidity of 56%, and the sky became cloudy in the afternoon. However, during the morning and midday, the heat was felt after the thermometer broke the 35°C barrier in the Federal Capital and its surroundings. The extended forecast indicated that isolated showers are expected for Tuesday, January 27, although the maximum will be 33 degrees and it will be mostly cloudy towards the night. Then, for Wednesday, mostly cloudy skies and southeast winds turning northeast are expected, with a minimum temperature of 24 degrees and a maximum of 31. On Thursday, partly cloudy skies, southeast winds rotating to east, and thermal marks ranging from 23 to 32 degrees are forecast, making it the most "pleasant" day of the week. For Friday, partly cloudy skies and east winds are announced, with a minimum temperature of 23 degrees and a maximum of 31. On the other hand, Saturday is expected to have mostly cloudy skies and northwest winds turning east, with thermal marks ranging from 24 to 31 degrees. Meanwhile, for Sunday, mostly cloudy skies with northeast winds turning east are expected, with a minimum temperature of 22 degrees and a maximum of 29.
Heat Strokes
Sources from SAME informed the Argentine News Agency that a total of 107 patients required assistance due to heat strokes. This includes 54 women, 49 men, and four other unidentified people who presented symptoms—106 adults and one minor—as a consequence of the extreme temperatures. At the same time, 11 of those affected had to be transferred to Buenos Aires hospitals.
